Dental Implants

Dental implants are permanently placed in the mouth to replace missing teeth (either congenitally, from trauma or due to disease) and hence look, function and feel like natural teeth.

An implant is composed of two parts: One is the fabricated titanium component that takes the place of the missing root, and the second part is the crown that is placed on top of the titanium implant. This restoration is typically tooth coloured and looks and feels like a natural tooth.

About Dental implants

Dental implants can also be used to secure full or partial dentures to the jaw making the wearing and functioning of dentures a lot more comfortable for the patient.

Dental implants can either be used to replace a single missing tooth or several lost teeth. In addition to replacing teeth, dental implants also help preserve facial structure. Often bone deterioration occurs when teeth are missing.

FAQs

  • What are the benefits of dental implants?

No one likes the way dentures and partials can slip, pinch, and come lose. Dental implants never do that. In fact, because implants are based on titanium posts securely placed and integrated into your jaw bone, they stop bone loss and stay stable and secure in your smile all day and all night. No need for soaking, sticky adhesives, or constant adjustments and re-fittings.

Instead, you will have a beautiful, natural-looking smile full of teeth that let you eat, laugh, and love to the fullest.

Dental implants are also very durable and will last you a long time. There is no need to shave down adjacent teeth as with a traditional bridge and we can restore your bite by preventing your natural teeth from moving from its original position.

  • Will people be able to tell that I have implants?

Most people are surprised by how incredibly natural their dental implants look. Every replacement option, from a single-tooth implant to multiple teeth implants are custom designed to suit you. We use only the finest labs and the best materials, leaving you with a smile no one will know is not your own.

  • Who can benefit from a dental implant?

Almost anyone healthy enough to undergo a routine dental extraction can be considered for a dental implant. Patients should have healthy gums and enough bone to hold the dental implant. They also must be committed to good oral hygiene and regular dental visits.

Heavy smokers, people suffering from uncontrolled chronic disorders such as diabetes need to be assessed on an individual basis. If you are considering implants, talk to our dentists to see if they are right for you.
